About This Site

For many of us, the line between vocation and avocation is blurry. The occupation for which we are best suited can be elusive until we know ourselves, and even then can change. It does not always involve doing things we enjoy. It is possible, however, to get the most out of our jobs and incorporate the best elements of our hobbies by using some creativity.

This blog is about my wanderings and ramblings as I explore each new adventure life has to offer me. Every fifteen to twenty years (gasp) I have felt the need to make a change in occupation. As a teenager and twenty-something I studied science and worked in the field of natural resources. In my thirties I became a teacher. Now I am poised to explore another path. Hobbies come and go, and are revisited. I have so many interests that it is difficult for me to keep track of them. I try to pursue as many as I can manage. With some planning and patience my interests will inform my choices, and I will be on my way to my next great adventure.

One thing that I often say is that I have been fortunate to experience everything that was important to me, but not necessarily when I wanted or expected it. Patience is easier when you are doing something creative.

I’m not sure how I found your blog, but I love the way you wander across a whole range of topics, yet somehow there’s some sort of cohesion …. Anyway, I like your philosophy and I’d like to continue reading your posts. Thanks.

You really hit the nail on the head! I do wander, but it’s nice to know that there is some continuity there, somewhere. Thanks for reading! I love the name of your blog, and I will be checking it out.
