My husband and I began our coast to coast tour twenty-five years after we first met while working for the US Forest Service near the south rim of the Grand Canyon. I grew up in California, and he grew up in New York, so it was either luck or fate that initially took us there.

This time we began our visit to my favorite national park on the north rim. I love the view to the south of the San Francisco Peaks, which are just north of Flagstaff, from across the canyon.
