Over the recent holiday weekend, I decided to finally buy the materials that I have needed for some time, in order to properly paint outdoors. I have used a makeshift arrangement to paint on my patio, but I wanted something better adapted to painting en plein air that would be portable.
Armed with a coupon, I arrived at my favorite art supply store during their Labor Day sale. I found just what I needed: a lightweight plein air easel, the last one on the shelf, and an Arches watercolor block.
The easel was reasonably priced, and on sale. But the watercolor paper was not on sale, and very expensive. Even with my coupon, it was going to pinch my pocketbook.
At the checkout counter, the salesperson gave me a 15% off coupon. Then I pulled out what I thought was a 20% coupon, but it turned out to be 40% off. What luck, to get everything that I needed at such a great discount. Now I am ready to be inspired!
