I left the laundry room door open while I was watering my garden this evening, and a California toad wandered in. It may have been attracted by the warmth of the dryer. But it got stuck in a corner and couldn’t get out.

After photographing it, I opened the door and encouraged it to leave. It tried to climb the wall, but couldn’t figure out where the door was. So I lifted it up and pushed it out with a plastic container cover. It hopped away, and may have learned to stay out of my laundry room in the future!
