My post today commemorates the first armed conflict of the American Revolution, which took place on this date two hundred and thirty-seven years ago. These photos were taken when my husband and I were in Massachusetts almost four years ago.

My friend Jane grew up near Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, so she took us on a tour of some historical sites during our visit to her home in New Hampshire.
Standing in this sunny spot I tried to imagine the events that took place here on the historic day that is immortalized with this memorial, the first shots fired in the American Revolutionary War.
